The Real-World Problem

The "last-mile" distribution of life-saving medical supplies such as vaccines and insulin is currently crippled by the electricity gap. Traditional refrigeration is far too costly and demands the presence of stable power grids - without which many regions are dubbed "rural" or merely "off-grid" - resulting in a global vaccination wastage rate of almost 50%. Existing low-cost alternatives such as the passive zeer pot do not have the active temperature controls and transparency of data that would guarantee the payload be kept safe and viable for human use.

Who need a self-monitoring storage solution for vaccines in the clinic still needs good storage that won't stop the vaccine from spoiling when power is cut off frequently.
